Women, Infants & Children Program (WIC)
Our Women, Infants & Children Program (WIC) is designed to provide essential support to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, as well as infants and children up to age five who are at nutritional risk. The WIC program offers a combination of supplemental foods, healthcare referrals, and nutrition education to help families thrive.
- Supplemental Foods: We provide nutritious foods to support the dietary needs of women, infants, and children, ensuring they receive the essential nutrients required for healthy growth and development.
- Health Care Referrals: Our program connects families with vital healthcare services, including pediatric care, prenatal care, and other medical resources to support their overall health.
- Nutrition Education: We offer nutrition education to help parents and caregivers understand the importance of a balanced diet and how to make healthy food choices for their families. This education empowers families to maintain good nutrition practices long after their WIC eligibility has ended.
- Breastfeeding Education & Support: Our Breastfeeding Education and Support services provide essential support and education during pregnancy and throughout the infant’s first year of life. The TCA WIC breastfeeding team is composed of highly trained Peer Counselors, Certified Lactation Specialists (CLS/CLS), and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). We believe the first year of life is the most important when it comes to nutrition, and we are here to get you and your baby off to the best start.
