Jamie Lands Job with TCA Support

A Journey of Resilience: Jamie Shares Her Experience with Trish Bailey, TCA Health Director of Development and Communications (June 6, 2024)

Before I connected with TCA Health, I had been unemployed for about five years due to the pandemic and an injury. I was referred to TCA through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, and honestly, I was unsure of what to expect. But from the moment I walked in, I met a team that was dedicated to helping me succeed.

The staff worked closely with me to review my background and explore opportunities that aligned with my skills and passion. Before my injury, I had experience working with youth, a field I’ve always been passionate about. TCA understood this and focused on helping me get back on track. They provided invaluable support by helping me update my resume and offering gas cards to help me attend interviews.

Within just a week of working with TCA, I landed a job as a Youth Worker at Lakeside Community, a role that brings me immense satisfaction. In just a few days, I’ll be celebrating my two-month anniversary in the position, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the encouragement and practical support TCA provided throughout my journey.

TCA has made a real difference in my life, and I’m excited to refer others who are looking for the same kind of support.
